Downer EDI Works has grown both organically and from the merging of many road and rail maintenance companies. The scope of our capabilities gives us the flexibility to offer our clients a “one-stop-shop” for the full range of infrastructure services.
Our roads capabilities span the full life cycle of a road from construction to maintenance and rehabilitation. We manage and maintain more roads in Australia than any other organisation and offer a full suite of pavement products and services including asphalt paving, spray sealing, slurry surfacing, stabilisation and rejuvenation.
To support these operations we are major manufacturers and suppliers of bitumen based products such as asphalt, blended binders and emulsion.
Supporting our business’ “front end” are technical experts in pavement technology and design, asset and maintenance management, rail systems management and materials engineering.
Across Australia and New Zealand our teams of rail specialists install, maintain and renew railway tracks, overhead electrification and sophisticated signalling systems. Our crews are renowned for both their construction expertise and maintenance support in attending to emergency situations such as major railway infrastructure washaways and train derailments.
